GRAND PRIX OF HOUSTON UNVEILS FANTASTIC CIRCUIT

HOUSTON, Nov 9, 2005 – The Grand Prix of Houston today unveiled the track design that Champ Car drivers will have to navigate to capture the crown of that event.

“We developed a track that will challenge and excite the world’s best drivers,” said Michael T. Lanigan, CEO of the Grand Prix of Houston. “We want to maximize speed and create passing opportunities to electrify the drivers and race fans alike.”

The 1.7-mile temporary street track at Reliant Park will host Champ Car’s first-ever night race on such a circuit May 11-13, 2006.

“Our vision for this race is to create an experience memorable to all,” said Chuck Kosich, General Manager of the Grand Prix of Houston. “And it starts with the track.”

The Grand Prix of Houston retained the services of Martyn Thake, known internationally for developing great race tracks.

“Reliant Park provides over 345 acres to develop a unique driving experience,” Thake said. “The Grand Prix of Houston will be one of the most exciting races on the Champ Car schedule and contains all the necessary features and structures to create a world class fan experience.”
