HOUSTON, August 11, 2006 - The Grand Prix of Houston was the “place to be” this May during the three-day festival of speed at Reliant Park, but fans will not have to wait until 2007 to get back in the action.
The Grand Prix of Houston is introducing “Grand Prix of Houston Pit Parties”, a series of monthly social outings at popular Houston-area venues that will capture the excitement of the Grand Prix year-round. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a “Pit Pass” for $10 which will be a special credential entitling the holder to great drink specials that night and at all future Pit Parties. All Pit Parties will include appearances by Miss Grand Prix of Houston and the Grand Prix of Houston show car, as well as exciting door prizes all night long.
Fans will also have the opportunity to become a special “Pit Crew” member by inviting 10 or more friends to any Pit Party. The friends must attend at least one Pit Party and purchase a Pit Pass to qualify. Pit Crew members will receive a number of benefits, including a special credential that identifies them as a Pit Crew member and 2 tickets to the VIP Pit Crew party at the 2006 Grand Prix of Houston.
The first Grand Prix Pit Party will take place at Belvedere in Uptown Park on August 16.
